Opening Celebration for the new TOS Church and Conference Center

Over the past 18 months, many have eagerly followed the construction progress, while most of the building work was actually accomplished by the members of the church. 15 km of cables, 210 cubic meters of concrete weighing 500 tons, 56 tons of steel, 3,500 meals for the volunteers, 40,000 hours of volunteer work.

The fact that the state-of-the-art hall was finished on time and even the second phase of building the Eastern extension has already begun, has become a testimony far beyond the boundaries of Tübingen that with God all things are possible. “I can only express my envy and congratulations; and I have to tell you that the city council does not have a hall of this size and multi-media equipment,” commented Tübingen Mayor Boris Palmer on Sunday morning (you can watch the video of the official opening meeting with the address by Mayor Palmer here). Architects in Tübingen were impressed with the degree of professionalism in the construction even with all the volunteers involved.

While the weather during the final days of the construction process had been grey and dismal, just in time for the Opening Celebrations summer had a great comeback and all the families were able to enjoy the celebrations in glorious weather. For the “Open Day” many citizens of Tübingen came for guided tours of the new center. The entire weekend was a string of highlights: Paul Wilbur, one of the most famous Messianic musicians in the US, recorded his first album in German together with the first-ever choir in TOS history (DesertRain) with the new hall offering excellent acoustic conditions.
