The Upgrade of Heaven
An “Upgrade” usually comes by surprise and is something rather pleasant. If you have just booked an economy class ticket on an airplane and then you are told that you are given an “upgrade” and can fly business class now, that means you have just received a special benefit which you didn’t earn or work for in any special way. When you are given an “upgrade” that means you are able to receive something very good without having done anything to deserve it – and that is exactly what the “Upgrade of Heaven” is all about.
I am convinced that in 2011 we will see many instances of God’s amazing intervention both in our personal lives, but also in our churches and especially in Germany. We will begin to see great and unsearchable things beyond our imagination. "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." (Jer 33:3) Strangely enough, many times an “Upgrade of Heaven” comes in a time of crises when we have almost given up hope, just at the time when we do not expect it any more – as it was at the time of the prophet Jeremiah. Jerusalem was under siege, houses were torn down as construction material against the siege ramps, and Jeremiah himself was in prison. It was a hopeless situation. Israel was at the end of its tether, their faith was devastated and ruined. Humanly speaking they were past remedy. We do not read anything about how Jeremiah heard God’s voice, but what he did hear was absolutely contrary to his sad reality. “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jer 33:3). “Jeremiah”, God said, “I will give such a complete turnaround of Israel’s situation that you couldn’t imagine it in your wildest dreams” (V7). “I will heal Israel and make them whole, and let them enjoy abundant peace and faithfulness” (V6). And then He continued, “They will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace, wealth, security and stability I provide for it” (V9). An “Upgrade of Heaven” is God’s incomprehensible and powerful intervention in a situation when we least expect it. Do you still remember the time when the “Iron Curtain” separating East and West that had seemed so impregnable was simply drawn aside? Isn’t it true that we felt “like in a dream” when the death wall with all of its automatic spring guns in Germany fell? In 2011 we will see great and unsearchable things that we didn’t dare to even dream of. Germany is on God’s agenda! Let’s get ready for an “Upgrade of Heaven”. When we call out to Him in fasting and prayer, we will see it and receive it.
